Another Squirrely October in Denver

The snowstorm arrived ahead of schedule, and it has been snowing consistently since 10am this morning. This is the first real snowstorm of the season, and mid-October puts it right on schedule. I moved to Colorado in October of 2002, roughly the 10th, and much to my amazement it snowed a week later. The snowfall projections have been updated from 1-3 inches to 2-6. I already have three inches on my balcony, so I'm putting my money on a number closer to six. Driving to class tonight was a bit scary at times, but the drive home was quite clear. October in Colorado is rather unpredictable: it can snow one day and be 80° the next. I have several photos of hikes in which the ground is completely blanketed in snow and yet I am comfortable wearing a tank top. no 80° temps for us for the rest of the week, though.
