I was scheduled for a walk around a lake on a very flat sidewalk, but this sounded rather boring to me. However, I also promised my knee doctor guy that I wouldn't do "anything crazy", oh, say, like run fof to climb some massive sand dunes..? So I broke out my Denver Hiking Guide and found a trail marked easy up around Evergreen. The trails this time of year are rather boring, to be honest. I wasn't terribly impressed with the vast majority of the photos I brought back with me. This one isn't too bad, though I have a zillion like it already. I love aspen eyes. They give the trees an anthropomorphic quality, and for some reason I always feel safer in the mountain forests when there are aspens around. Maybe partly because they grow so close together that any bear interested in eating me for lunch would surely be too big to pass between them. I'm probably making that up, but it works pretty well in my head.
