5,280 Feet

I spent most of the day downtown, hanging out amongst the skyscrapers. Turning down one street, I found this sunny and nicely framed view of the capitol building. The capitol is most famous to tourists for having the step with the plaque that denotes 5,280 feet (one mile) above sea level. A few years back a geological survey somehow determined that it was actually wrong by a few feet and had it moved. Just beyond the photo's right border I found a Jimmy John's, where I had my first JJ sandwich in four years before dashing off to the bus station to catch a ride back to the suburbs.
